About Us: San Diego Cosmetic Dentistry

The Center for Dental Health, La Jolla is a comprehensive dental care establishment, offering services in the areas of General & Cosmetic dentistry. We are conveniently located in the UTC area of San Diego, overlooking Interstate 5 and within minutes from Interstate 805. Our office is housed in a Class A building that houses other medical as well as dental offices.

We perform a multitude of cosmetic procedures in house, like Full Porcelain Lava crowns, Ultra Thin Mac Veneers, Smile Contouring, Gummy smile elimination; We are a preferred provider with most PPO plans and work with over 12 different PPO insurance plans.

We have 3 spacious operatories in 2300 square feet of space that includes a recovery/consultation room as well as a private office. We also have a play area for our young patrons. The office is handicap accessible and we do have a wheelchair on-site as well. We are equipped with Nitrous Oxide sedation, in every operatory, for those who prefer being treated under sedation.

Dr. Sandhya Hegde D.D.S. B.D.S.

Dr. Hegde is the President & CEO of the practice. Dr. Hegde's focus is to provide gentle, quality & affordable dentistry in this dental practice. Having trained and served as a dentist in India, Dr. Hegde holds dual dental degrees from Mangalore University, India, and from Loma Linda University, CA. Being a mother herself, she understands the importance of aesthetics and its pertinence to dental care. Dr. Hegde's background covers many aspects of dentistry and her experience includes the areas of Periodontal disease treatment, Implant surgery & restoration, Root canal therapy, Crown & Bridge restoration and Cosmetic dentistry. She is skilled in all facets of family dentistry and her patience & care is greatly appreciated by all her patients. Dr. Hegde is receiving a fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry in July 2008. Dr. Hegde has a love for nature and wildlife that she likes to pursue, during her spare time.

Sundeep Hegde

Sundeep is the Director of the office, handling all the treatment plans, patient feedback/suggestions, payment plans, discount policies etc. A business consultant himself, he has dealt extensively with the healthcare industry and understands the imperatives for long term patient retention. He can be reached for any questions or concerns pertaining to the treatment plan, your future schedules, convenient payment installments, etc.

Dr. Julie Shih

Dr. Julie Shih is the newest addition to the practice, having returned to San Diego from the Los Angeles area. Dr. Shih completed her degree in dentistry from UCLA, after having done her undergraduate studies at UCSD. As part of her international exposure to working with different people, Dr. Shih also studied in Spain for a year. Dr. Shih provides comprehensive dental care and is an advocate of prevention and patient education. She has recently added Invisalign (clear braces) to her extensive set of dental skills & acumen. Dr. Shih is continuously broadening her horizons by taking courses in Cosmetic Dentistry & other continuing education courses. Dr. Shih enjoys jewelry making and spending time with her family.

Alexandria (Sandy) Osbourne: Office Coordinator

Sandy has joined the practice after having worked for over 7 years in the field of dentistry, in various capacities. She is very accomplished in understanding the workings of the different insurance companies and plans and is known to work very diligently on behalf of her patients. She can be reached for all your scheduling and billing questions.

Vianey Sanchez & Rudy Olivos: Back Office

Our back office consists of experienced Dental Assistants, who are very capable & experienced at putting our patients at ease and helping them overcome any fears & anxiety, if any. They are certified & up to date on all sterilization & CPR techniques as well as with all procedures & materials that are introduced as part of our efforts to stay modern & current.
